The Ministry of Interior is now working on the implementation of a new application which will keep records of immigrants in Turkey. Immigrants will make their location notifications with the GÖÇBİL application to be installed on their mobile phones.
According to the latest data, there are 4 million 171 thousand registered foreigners in Turkey. Currently, foreigners who are required to report migration They have to go to the administration and sign or have their fingerprints scanned.
With the “GÖÇBİL” application prepared by the Ministry, this process will now be carried out via mobile phones.
It is anticipated that “GÖÇBİL” will start to be used as of the first week of January. Foreigners who have a reporting obligation will enter the application on their mobile phones and report their locations at certain intervals.
It will work with facial recognition system.
The facial recognition system will be used to log into the system. The recorded photo will be compared with the one registered in the system. This will prevent notifications from being made by different people.
The application will send notifications to law enforcement in case of unauthorized exits from the province in which the person is registered. At the same time, sanctions will be imposed on those who fail to notify twice without reasonable cause.
Those who do not use the application will go to the Provincial Immigration Directorates and make a notification with their signature or fingerprint.
The “GOÇBİL” application will be available in 7 languages. It can be downloaded and installed on all mobile phones free of charge from application markets.
