Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca said, “Each patient who has an appointment the next day will confirm their appointment or notify that they cannot come by 8 o’clock in the evening. We call this system the approved appointment system, and this new period initiated in MHRS as the approved appointment period.” He made the statement. The new system, which started on Monday, May 13, will offer patients, hospitals and physicians the opportunity to use time efficiently.

In the Approved Appointment System, the remaining capacity after cancellation of appointments will be used for patients waiting for service. For every vacant appointment, patients who cannot make an appointment through the system but have left a request will be contacted and priority will be given to the patients who made a request. 10 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT THE NEW SYSTEM

1- What is the “Approved Appointment System” and when did it come into effect?

2- Do people who make an appointment through the system need to confirm that they will keep the appointment time?

One day before the appointment date, people will need to confirm their appointment or notify that they cannot come until 20:00 in the evening. Approval can be given through all channels, including the “www.mhrs.gov.tr” website, mobile application and “ALO 182” call center.

3- Can an approved appointment be cancelled?

Cancellations can be made through the “www.mhrs.gov.tr” website, mobile application and ALO 182 call center until 20.00 the day before the appointment date.

4- How will the process be carried out for people who made an appointment through the system but did not confirm it?

The appointment of people who do not confirm their appointment until the final confirmation time will be cancelled by the system.

5- Will any restrictions be applied if the approved appointment is not made?

People who confirm their appointment but do not attend will be restricted from making new appointments for the same branch for 15 days. However, these people will be able to receive service without an appointment from health institutions affiliated with the Ministry.

6- Will people who do not confirm or cancel their appointments be able to receive service from the hospital they applied to the next day?

Appointments for which no action has been taken will be automatically cancelled at 20:00 the day before. In this case, the person will be able to make an appointment again or receive service from health facilities without an appointment.

7- Will approval be mandatory for all appointments?

Approval will be required for all appointments made for three days or more, but appointments made within two days before the examination date will be automatically deemed approved. For example, an appointment made on May 22 or 23 for May 24 will automatically be considered confirmed.

8- Are there groups exempt from the approved appointment system?

Patients over the age of 65 and cancer patients will be exempt from this application in the approved appointment system. Patients in this group will be able to make an appointment at any time.

9- How will the person who made an appointment at the hospital for 14.00 on May 24th and confirmed the appointment the day before, proceed if a situation arises that prevents him from going to the appointment after the confirmation process?

Even if the appointment is confirmed by the person or automatically, it can be cancelled until May 23, 20.00. People who do not cancel their approved appointment and do not attend their appointment by this time will be restricted from making new appointments for the same branch for 15 days. However, people will be able to receive service from health facilities without an appointment.

10- 200 people who had an appointment for the next day did not confirm their appointment until 20:00. Will these appointments be automatically considered cancelled and given to patients who requested them? Will a person who does not complete the confirmation process until 20:00 be able to make an appointment afterwards?

People whose appointments were automatically cancelled because they were not confirmed will be able to make an appointment again. No restrictions will be applied. Appointments that are automatically cancelled and vacant as of 20:00 will be given to those who request them first.
