German cyclist Andre Greipel from the Lotto-Belisol team has won the second stage of the 48th Presidential Tour of Turkey, which began in the southern Turkish town of Alanya on Monday.
The 153-kilometer Alanya-Antalya stage ended at Atatürk Park. One hundred ninety-one
athletes took part in the race. The third stage, Antalya-Elmalı, is scheduled for Tuesday. The winner of the first stage, Alanya to Alanya, was Dutch cyclist Theo Bos from the Rabobank team. Bos said in a post-race press conference that the last round determined the winner. “Everything was all right while entering the last round. But … only three riders were left. Two of our friends [were] left behind. One … cyclist from the Gren Edge and I team sprinted to the finish. I could [have been] second. But I made it,” he said.
