⚡ Electricity Subsidy Threshold Tightened: 2.5 Million to Lose Support
A new regulation set to take effect on January 1, 2026, will lower the eligibility threshold for government electricity subsidies in Türkiye. Households consuming more than 4,000 kilowatt-hours annually or averaging 984 TL per month in electricity bills will no longer qualify for support. This marks a significant shift from the previous limit of 5,000 kilowatt-hours, and is expected to impact approximately 2.5 million subscribers nationwide.
