Marriage applications
The documents required for foreign Citizens in marriage applications are as follows:
1- Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage – a certificate of legal capacity to marry needs to be obtained from your own country and then be translated into Turkish in a Consulate in Turkey and it must then be countersigned by the Governorship of the county where the Consulate is or by the Foreign Office in Ankara.
2- Birth Certificate (is to be obtained from your own country and translated into Turkish either in a Consulate or a Notary)
3- Passport translation (Notary approved Turkish translation.)
4- Health Report with an attached photograph (to be obtained from Kuşadası no 1 Sağlık Ocağı (Health Centre)
5- A Registration number is to be obtained from the Municipality.
6- 4 passport photographs (those over 6 months old will not be accepted)
7- Notary Sworn Interpreter: It is compulsory for foreign individuals who do not speak Turkish to bring in a Notary Sworn Interpreter for the exchange of their marital vows.
Notes:
A) Marriage applications can be made on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings between 08.30 and 11.30 or 13.30 and 15.30
B) The brides who wish to keep their maiden names must so inform and fill the necessary documents at the time of their applications.
