The new series which will be a blend of fiction and documentary will be released on January 24th.
Filmed in Turkey, Rise of Empires: Ottoman tells the epic 15th-century story of Mehmed II, known as Mehmed the Conqueror, chronicling his astonishing and fabled rise from 13-year-old child Sultan to toppling Constantinople and becoming the ruler of the Ottoman Empire.
It was directed by Emmy award-winning Turkish director Emre Sahin, and stars Cem Yigit Uzumoglu, and Tommaso Basili with Charles Dance taking on the role of narator.
Rise of Empires: Ottoman, was created by Los Angeles-based Turkish production company Karga Seven Pictures and STX Entertainment for Netflix. The series will consist of six episodes.
