This year “The 59. Presidential Turkish Cycling Tour” commenced on 21st of April, 2024 in Antalya and ending 8 days later in Istanbul.
There are 8 stages to the tour, the 5th and 6th of which arrive and depart Kusadasi.
Be mindful of Traffic restrictions in and around Kusadasi on Thursday next the 25th of April.
The Tour originated back in the year of 1963 when it was known then as the “Marmara Tour”.
The “Marmara Tour” became Internationally recognized and so it was decided to bring the event under the auspices of the Presidency in the year 1968.
Teams from all around the world have competed since in this Tour which showcases not only cycling athletes and their abilities but also showcasing the natural and hıstorical locations across Turkiye to a world wide audience over 8 days.
This tour has become an important event on the world cycling calendar and to Turkiye as a country as it is a magnificent opportunity to promote Tourism here.
The Cycling stages, of which there are 8 cover popular tourism spots which this year include towns and vıllages between Bodrum and Kusadasi.
Stages 5 leaves Bodrum on the 25th of April arrıvıng in Kusadasi after a 181.9km cycle. The following day, 26th April, Stage 6 begins with the competitors departing Kusadasi en-route to Manisa, cycling a distance of 165.8km.
There are World and National teams taking part, to include Germany, Italy, Spain, USA, Belgium and Turkiye.
The Presidential Cycling Tour concludes at Stage 8 in and around Istanbul on the 28th of April 2024. The teams wıll fly from Izmir into Istanbul for the last stage.
