Ministry of Commerce’s January Audit Report
A total of 22,818 companies were examined in the inspections carried out by the Ministry of Trade in January . During these inspections, administrative fines totaling 55.6 million TL were imposed on 7,367 companies where various violations were detected . The Ministry emphasized the importance of these inspections carried out for the purpose of protecting consumers.
According to the statements, the following details were included in the inspections carried out in January 2025:
- Price Tag Inspections: A total of 22,818 companies were inspected.
- Companies Detected to Be in Violation: Action was taken against 7,367 companies.
- Amount of Penalty Applied: 55.6 million TL administrative fine was imposed.
- Market Inspections: Price tag inspections were carried out in 13,123 markets and a fine of 32.5 million TL was imposed on markets where violations were detected .
- Food and Beverage Services: Tariffs and price lists of 6,454 restaurants, cafes, and patisseries were inspected; 9.7 million TL in fines were imposed during these inspections.
- Consumer Contracts: A total of 52.7 million TL administrative fine was imposed in 25 separate cases for acts contrary to contracts to which consumers are a party .
- Advertisement and Unfair Commercial Practices: 2,034 companies were inspected and 188 companies were fined 29.3 million TL .
In addition, a total of 14,583 companies have been inspected by the General Directorate of Domestic Trade for exorbitant prices and other irregularities in the automotive, real estate and jewelry sectors since the beginning of 2025.
