It was with great sadness to hear today about the passing of Wendy Coward aka Beatrice James who passed away in August.
Beatrice James was the combination of two writers, Wendy Beatrice Coward and Kevin James de Waal. They first worked together in 1979, parted ways and reunited in 2006. Kevin told me Wendy became unwell just as they were finishing the final chapters of the sequel to Turkish Eye.
Wendy had a life-long interest in the criminal psyche and had worked with the Ministry of Justice writing reports on some of the most shocking of British Crimes.
I had the pleasure of meeting Wendy in 2016 and she told me that “The Turkish Eye” series of novels were conceived during many years of travel to Kusadasi.
Wendy has many friends in Kusadasi and Kevin has got involved with Macmillan’s fundraising initiatives and Wendy’s page at www.gosober.co.uk/users/kevin-de-waal where he is raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Everyone here at The Ege Eye offer our sincere condolences to Kevin and to Wendy’s family.
