With the summer season at an end, winter clothes have started to appear in the local market held on Wednesdays in Kuşadası.
With the arrival of winter, citizens who come to the Çarşamba market (Wednesday Market) set up in Kuşadası in the early hours of the morning filled the stalls to buy coats, winter socks, tracksuits, sweatshirts, pajamas and boots. In the market, which is heavily visited by local and foreign tourists as well as Kuşadası residents, citizens stated that the market prices are more affordable compared to stores, while shopkeepers stated that the prices are on a balanced course compared to last year.
‘IF WE COMPARE IT WITH THE PRICES IN STORES, THE MARKET IS MUCH CHEAPER’
Saime Canoluk, who stated that she buys what she needs from the market every year before the winter season, said that the prices are much more affordable compared to stores, and said, ‘We came to the market to look at coats. In fact, it is possible to find products suitable for every budget here.
We are retired and we can buy a coat that we would have paid instalments for months in stores, here at a reasonable price in cash or again with a card. Of course, the work does not end with just coats. All kinds of products that will keep you warm during the winter season, such as polar fleece, are also displayed on the stalls.
Life is very expensive; we can no longer afford luxury. We try to buy products that fit our budget from wherever we can find them.’
‘TOURISTS HAVE A VERY HIGH INTEREST IN THE MARKET’
The market tradesmen, who stated that the interest shown in both the end of summer and the beginning of winter season products at the Çarşamba market, (Wednesday Market) which hosts both domestic visitors and foreign customers, made them very happy, said, ‘With the end of summer season, we started to display winter clothes. Citizens started to come to buy coats, boots, polar tracksuits, and pyjamas.
Our summer season products are still on the counter and purchases continue for them. Our sales are going well. We are especially pleased with the interest of our foreign guests. While some of our domestic citizens find the prices expensive, some say that the prices are normal compared to the stores.
In our opinion, the prices are very normal compared to outside the market.’
