Continuing their production under the roof of Ada Women’s Initiative Production and Business Cooperative (Ada Koop), women from Kuşadası turn the fruits collected from the orange trees that adorn different parts of the city into jam. The orange jams offered for sale at the Halk Ada Market delight the palate with their colour, smell and taste.
The oranges collected from the trees decorating the streets and avenues of the city by the Kuşadası Municipality Parks and Gardens Directorate teams are transformed into jam, an indispensable part of breakfast tables, in the skilful hands of Ada Koop women members. Kuşadası Municipality teams, who continue the pruning, watering, grafting and other maintenance of the orange trees located in different parts of the city throughout the year, begin to collect the fruits in January and February.
The jam journey begins when teams that collect an average of 150-200 kilograms of oranges per day crate the fruits and deliver them to the Emek Workshop affiliated with Ada Koop. Oranges, which are perfect for jam making with their strong aroma and thin peels, gain a unique Flavors in the skilled hands of Ada Koop women members.
