“WE EXPECT TO SEE INFLATION RATES DECREASE BELOW 50 PERCENT IN SEPTEMBER”
Yilmaz’s full statement is as follows:
“We implement our policies with strong political ownership and coordination and get results. Looking at the latest developments, the budget deficit and current account deficit for 2024 will be realized at much better rates than the MTP estimates we shared last year. While our growth continues in a more balanced structure, our fight against inflation will continue on a much stronger basis. While fiscal measures targeting expenditure, productivity and income and dynamic trade policies reduce our risks, they also support our disinflation policies. We expect to see inflation rates approaching 50 percent in August and falling below 50 percent in September. Our latest estimates and targets for these rates will be included in the updated OVP that we will share with the public in September.
“WE WILL CONTINUE OUR REFORMS”
Our technical work continues with our institutions, especially the Strategy and Budget Presidency and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, for the MTP that will cover the period 2025-2027. On the other hand, we are implementing a participatory approach in consultation with the relevant parties.
We plan to complete this picture with structural transformations in the four-year non-election period, which is valuable for our country and which we consider as a historical window of opportunity. We will continue on our path with green and digital transformation from industry to agriculture, tourism to services, energy to logistics. While reaching new levels in education and health, we will continue our reforms aimed at increasing trust and speed in the field of justice, which we see as the ‘foundation of property’.
We will protect the peace of our people with effective technologies and institutional structures in the field of security, which is of indispensable importance on the path to democracy and development.
We will succeed with our unique location, effective and peaceful foreign policy, innovative and entrepreneurial population. In the Turkish Century; we will realize our goals one by one with strong leadership, experienced staff, national unity and political stability.
Our aim is to carry our country into the future stronger in every field and to increase the welfare of our people. Despite the difficult world and regional conditions, we are determined to grow steadily and increase our social welfare permanently.” https://www.birgun.net/
