Within the scope of the coronavirus (Covid-19) measures, the Municipality of Kuşadası continued their inspections of businesses in order to ensure that they comply with social distance rules and hygiene rules.

Kuşadası Mayor Omer Gunel stated that “our priority has always been the health of the public”.

While the temperature in Kusadasi exceeded 30 degrees many people flocked to the beaches.  It has been said on a few Kusadasi Turkish news sites that on the whole most people followed the social distance rules.

This weekend Centrum appears to have been very busy and there have been conflicting views, with some saying that social distancing and masks were adhered to.

Looking through some of our local social media pages we see that some boat trips have resumed. These too have to comply with health regulations.

Sadly a 59-year-old woman lost her life when she fell from the 4th floor of an apartment in Kusadasi. An investigation has been launched into the incident.

We are waiting to hear of any updates this week as to any changes regarding the relaxation of the quarantine measures for the over 65’s.

It has been mentioned that maybe people will be allowed out an extra day, however; this has not been confirmed.

As soon as we are aware of any changes we will update on all of our social media platforms.
