The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that 50 TL and 5 TL banknotes have been put into circulation. With the decision published in the Official Gazette, E9 Emission Group 8th series 50 TL and 7th series 5 TL banknotes have been put into circulation as of today.
According to the announcement published in the Official Gazette dated November 19, 2024, the 8th series 50 TL and 7th series 5 TL banknotes of the E9 Emission Group entered circulation as of today. https://www.haberler.com/
OFFICIAL GAZETTE CENTRAL BANK ANNOUNCEMENT PUBLISHED
The announcement included the following statement:
“Based on the authority granted to our Bank by Law No. 1211, E9 Emission Group VIII. Series 50 TL and VII. Series 5 TL banknotes will be put into circulation as of November 19, 2024. Compared to the previous series E9 Emission Group banknotes currently in circulation, the signatures on the VIII. Series 50 TL and VII. Series 5 TL banknotes have been rearranged to belong to the President Dr. Fatih Karahan; on 50 TL banknotes to belong to the Vice President Dr. Osman Cevdet Akçay, and on 5 TL banknotes to belong to the Vice President Prof. Dr. Hatice Karahan. Except for the signatures on them, the banknotes in question are completely identical to the previous series in terms of their dimensions, front and back compositions, and general quality and appearance.
